Teaching
Teaching the next generation of materials science and chemical engineering students is a privilege and responsibility not to be taken lightly. Roger Tipton has taught:
- Machine Design
- Foundations of Engineering
- Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Lab I
- Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Lab II
These are hands on classes where students actively learn how to apply engineering principals to actual problems.
Teaching Philosophy
Experiential learning where students apply theory is important in preparing students for life outside the classroom.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
I have made it a point to ensure DEI are meaningfully incorporated into the classroom as appropriate and meaningful to the course content.
Outreach
Our lab supports a thriving entrepreneurship community in the Tampa Bay region. Helping students and startups developing new intellectual property, setting up business, developing business plans, and sourcing new funding opportunities is an exciting and rewarding way to support innovation in our community.
