Dr. Roger Tipton
Before academia, Roger spent more than 20 years in industry, rising from a shop-floor manufacturing engineer to CEO to the Boardroom. That foundation shapes every course he teaches and every research question his lab pursues: the distance between a good idea and a useful product matters. He also chairs the board of the Sustainable Seas Institute, the nonprofit that operates R/V Dawn for global ocean research.
